Cyber Insurance 101: Staying Ahead in an Ever-Changing Digital World Part 1

May 21, 2025, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Businesses are increasingly collecting and retaining data, and they have a public responsibility and legal obligation to safeguard this data. Overwhelming incident response costs and confusing legislative requirements make it difficult for businesses to overcome the fallout of a privacy breach without the assistance of a trusted cyber insurance broker and market. Parts 1 and 2 of this informational session will focus on the aspects of your business that are vulnerable to a cyber attack, best practices to manage and mitigate this risk, what is covered under a comprehensive, standalone cyber policy, as well as tailored claims scenarios and breach response guidelines.

What we’ll cover:

  • Cyber Exposures: How network and process vulnerabilities create exposures for businesses and the common ways in which cyber criminals exploit these vulnerabilities.
  • Best Practices: Key cyber security best practices and response plans to consider implementing.
  • Cyber Insurance Coverage: A review of what is covered and not covered by a comprehensive, standalone cyber insurance policy.
  • Claims Scenarios: Exploring past cyber claims tailored to SMEs and how best to react in the event a privacy breach occurs.

Why this matters:

Nearly three-quarters of small and mid-sized businesses reported a cyber attack in the past year, highlighting the need for further education and insurance peace of mind to help alleviate the concern of the impact a costly privacy breach can have on a business’s operations and finances.
