Alberta Chambers of Commerce and Government of Canada Recognize Extraordinary Albertans: Media Release 1/18/2023
EDMONTON - The Alberta Chambers of Commerce is holding a virtual ceremony on January 30th from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM (Mountain Time) to recognize 15 Albertans who have demonstrated exceptional qualities and outstanding service to the province of Alberta. The recipients of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal will be honoured for their dedication to their communities and commitment to the betterment of our province and country.
The medals will be presented by the Alberta Chambers of Commerce during a virtual ceremony on January 30th, 2023. The recipients were selected by a judicial committee from the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, based on criteria rooted in exceptional service and commitment to their communities.
Queen Elizabeth II approved the creation of a commemorative medal in honour of the 70th anniversary of Her late Majesty’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. This medal will be awarded to 7,000 residents of Alberta who have made a significant contribution to Canada, Alberta, their communities, or fellow citizens. The recipients of this prestigious award hail from many industries across Alberta.
