The Talent Pipeline Management® (TPM) Academy is a training program developed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation that strengthens partnerships between employers and their talent supply chain partners.

In Alberta, the Alberta Chambers of Commerce (ACC) is leading the implementation of TPM in Canada through its Talent Development Task Force, in partnership with the Alberta Post-Secondary Network (APSN). This initiative brings together employers, chambers of commerce, post-secondary institutions, industry associations, and government partners to address Alberta’s workforce challenges through an employer-led, demand-driven approach.

The initiative is supported by the Government of Alberta and aligns with provincial priorities to expand work-integrated learning, champion skilled trades, and connect training with real-time labour market data—key goals of Alberta’s Jobs Strategy.

As Canada’s first TPM cohort, the Alberta TPM Academy equips participants with the tools and strategies to build stronger talent pipelines and better align education and workforce systems with real employer demand.

What is TPM?

Talent Pipeline Management® (TPM) is an employer-led approach that helps businesses address critical workforce challenges such as unfilled positions, skills shortages, retention, and career advancement.

Through the TPM Academy, participants learn how to organize employers around shared workforce needs, collaborate with education and training providers, and build sustainable talent pipelines that connect people to jobs more efficiently.

The Alberta Chambers of Commerce Talent Development Task Force supports this work through province-wide collaboration and data insights gathered from more than 3,000 businesses across Alberta.
