Additionally, Marcel Arcand will be presenting a starting point for an Indigenous Economic Framework that we can build collaboratively amongst the Nations in preparation for the upcoming adoption of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the Truth & Reconciliation Commission of Canada 94 Calls to Action.
Elder Marcel Paul
Marcel Paul is a proud family man with 6 children, 16 grandchildren and a loving wife with whom he has shared his life for the past 35-plus years. A fluent Cree speaker, Marcel has learned the cultural and traditional ways from his grandfather from a very young age. Additionally, Marcel served 9 years as a council member and has a degree from the University of Saskatoon in Lands Management, where he graduated with a 90% average. He has and will always continue to be a strong advocate for First Nations peoples and their rights and passes these teachings on to his children and grandchildren. A skillful negotiator, Marcel has concluded some historical land claims and other claims for his nation during his tenure as a Council Member and the Lands Director.
