Elder Marcel Paul

Elder Marcel Paul

Marcel Paul is a proud family man with 6 children, 16 grandchildren and a loving wife with whom he has shared his life for the past 35-plus years.  A fluent Cree speaker, Marcel has learned the cultural and traditional ways from his grandfather from a very young age.  Additionally, Marcel served 9 years as a council member and has a degree from the University of Saskatoon in Lands Management, where he graduated with a 90% average.  He has and will always continue to be a strong advocate for First Nations peoples and their rights and passes these teachings on to his children and grandchildren.  A skillful negotiator, Marcel has concluded some historical land claims and other claims for his nation during his tenure as a Council Member and the Lands Director.  Marcel credits his teachings and knowledge to his grandfather and many Elders who have since passed and holds these teachings very near to his heart.  Believing that partnerships need to be mutually respectful and beneficial, Marcel will continue to be an advocate for First Nations people now and for future generations.
